Also, the collection depicts views of the mountains of West Virginia, Ocean View (beach scenes), views in Halifax County, Washington, D.C., and Niagara Falls. Marshall attended St. Mary's College at Belmont (now Belmont Abbey College), North Carolina, and many of the photographs were taken at this institution or of activities associated with the college.

The negatives have been removed from their original photograph album and placed in acid free sleeves. Contact prints have been made of each negative to aid reference. The photographic negatives were left in their original order and placed in numerical order. Part of the negatives were not identified and have been placed in a miscellaneous category.
