Two- story brick jail with bars on the visible windows, building visible behind jail, lawn in front covered with scruffy grass and yellow flowers; on back "Colonial 'Gaol.' The Tories captured in the Revolutionary Battle of Moore's Creek Bridge February 27, 1776 were cast into this historic jail. Flora McDonald came here to plead for the freedom of her Tory husband.
