This collection consists of one volume of abstracts of court minutes from Columbus County Superior Court of Law and Equity from 1817-1850. They were transcribed by Jason Williamson in 1988. The cases seen by this court were serious in nature. Cases tried included: divorce, drunkenness, carrying arms, trespassing, larceny, forgery, perjury, slander, malicious mischief, adultery and fornication, harboring slaves, affray, assault and battery, assault with intent to kill, and murder. As proofs, these abstracts have correction fluid, paste over and other correction marks to the text.
