Biographical/Historical

The photographs in this collection depict people and places around Manns Harbor, a small village on the Dare County mainland. Two of the individuals named in the collection are James Lath Midgett (1870-1915) and Mary D. Hayman Midgett (1876-1964) who owned a grocery store in Manns Harbor. Donor Linda Harris's connection to the Midgetts is unclear, but she may have been related to the family through her grandmother, Belva Midgett Daniels (1885-1970)
