The Outer Banks Chapter of the National Audubon Society formed in 1979 and disbanded in 1994. During its existence, the group distributed the periodical Audubon Adventures to elementary schools in Dare County, gave educational programs at schools, assisted at numerous natural areas on the Outer Banks, and participated in birding trips. This collection comprises the surviving records of the group.
