Biographical/Historical
In the Autumn of 1931, Curtis Clark (1909-1996) and his cousin Otha Hall (1903- 989),
began to organize a Clark family reunion in the Sandy Mush section of Buncombe County.
Their inspiration came from the Duckett family who also held a reunion in the area.
The first reuion was held in June of 1932 at the Sandy Mush School. Hack Clark was
chosen as president of the inaugural gathering.Although it has changed locations since
its inception, the gathering still takes place on the first Saturday in June.
