Abstract
Millie Dunn Veasey (1918-2018) was born in Raleigh, N.C. to Pleasant H. and Eugenia Henry Dunn. In 1943 she enlisted in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corp and during subsequent service was part of the 6888 Central Postal Battalion. Using the GI Bill, Mrs. Veasey graduated from St. Augustine's College in 1953 and later earned a Master's Degree. A teacher and later a professional staff member at the college, she was the first woman president of the Raleigh NAACP and active in community and civic life. Papers consist of speeches, photographs, articles, programs, awards, certificates, newspaper articles, memorabilia and other materials.
