It shows various buildings in the background, which appear to be barracks and shops as well as an automobile, individuals engaged in a formation and other activities. A section of horse drawn French 75mm artillery can be seen in the distance at the extreme left of the photograph.

    Biographical/Historical note

    Fort Jackson, previously Camp Jackson, is located in northeastern Columbia, SC. It was established in 1917 to train soldiers for World War I.
